ABOUT ME

Nice To Meet You

I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid. So I went to Space Camp (Huntsville, Alabama) and later enrolled as an engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh. And then (for reasons only a college student can understand) I graduated with an English lit degree.

With that, I went to China and taught English for a year. Upon returning, I went back to school and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in pharmacy.

And that’s how I became a Salesforce administrator and developer. Ha.

To be fair, I did have a fulfilling (but short-lived) career as a pharmacist that spanned 7 years. But then my wife’s diplomatic career took us overseas and it was only then did I eventually stumble across Salesforce as a viable career option abroad. And it’s a good thing — I love it.

I’m currently a 3x certified Salesforce admin and developer that consults with nonprofits and businesses. While I have platform-wide skills, I specialize in automation and enjoy taking org data and creating insightful reports and dashboards for my clients. I write code, too — Apex triggers, controllers, LWCs, etc. I passed the Platform Developer I certification in May 2023.

At this time, I live in Vienna with my wife and two children. However, we get back to the States each summer. This is often split between Ellensburg, WA (east of Seattle) and Lewes, DE (on the bay). We most recently lived in Brazil for 3 years. Prior to that, we lived in Mexico City, DC, Rome, and Warsaw.

I started this blog in September 2022 to document my Salesforce exploration two years into my journey. I’m also using it to write the posts I wished had shown up in my Google search results whenever I felt stuck with basic Salesforce knowledge (eg, What is a Salesforce List View?).

Want to get in touch (and you’re not a bot)? Feel free to contact me.
